Why “La Manteca”?

Long story: La Manteca, meaning butter in Spanish, is fresh, soft, and solid (at room temperature). It’s smooth and satisfying.

Short story: I met a dog who had that name and fell in love with her.

Aiming to be more than a fashion label, our objective is to build a collaborative, evolving international network that supports other arts and trades. This mobile hub will foster slow fashion and collaboration, offering high-quality, artisanal products that blend art with practical wear.
Guided by quality, originality, and multi-sensory experiences, La Manteca’s designs are authentic, comfortable, and expressive. Each piece offers versatility and innovation, appealing to those who appreciate fashion as a unique, artistic expression.
Looking ahead we’ll be hosting pop-up shops worldwide to showcase handmade pieces alongside works by other artists and designers. Plans also include offering workshops that bring creatives together, fostering community through fiber arts. Additionally, original crochet and knit patterns will be released, inviting people to make their own unique, pieces.
